History

The Frederick Flute Choir is in its thirty-second season performing in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. The choir is a semiprofessional adult ensemble consisting of professional flutists, music teachers and very talented amateurs, all dedicated to the production of the finest music possible for our audiences. Membership is drawn from Maryland, Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia. Highlight performances include two performances on the Kennedy Center's Grand Foyer Series, five performances on the White House grounds, a performance at the National Flute Association's National Convention, and numerous performances at festivals, churches, civic groups and other venues. The Choir's season runs from September through May each year. The Choir has presented over 180 public performances.
Mission
The Frederick Flute Choir's mission is to present musical performances of the highest quality, providing arts, educational, and cultural enrichment for the local communities and region. Performing members play the well-known C flute, in addition to the piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute.
Central to its mission as a non-profit organization, the Frederick Flute Choir partners to introduce renowned guest artists to local arts patrons, fostering goodwill and synergy with audience members and among the directors and performers.
